Wisdom by Mariana B | ENTRY 5
Wisdom
People say youth is wasted on the young. I've always wondered when I'd stop being young. Would it be when collagen abandoned me? When my first gray hair appeared? Or when I had accomplished my goals with job, marriage, kids, financial stability? I don't know and truthfully don't care anymore. Maybe that's the answer - I'm finally no longer young. In fact, I'm a middle-aged woman! The mistakes and oversights of my youth got me to where I am. My goal is to make damn sure wisdom won't be wasted on the old. I'd like to be the best mother I can be. Not the perfect one - that's impossible. But the best one I can be. Be present for the special people in my life - family and friends. Stop apologizing for not suffering fools gladly. Hopefully meet my grandchildren and grow old, very very old, with my husband.

If you were deserted on an island, name a famous person you would want to be with (dead or alive) and 2 items to have on the island with you. "Kathy Griffin, diving mask, raincoat - so multipurpose!"
If you were not a lawyer, what profession would you have chosen and why? "I'd be an interior designer. I got into law school at age 17 and wanted to pursue criminal law. I ended up being a corporate lawyer but I would have loved to have had a creative career."
If a movie was made about you, who would play your character and what genre would the movie be? "Either Angelina Jolie or Uma Thurman and it'd be a Wes Anderson movie (does that count as a genre?)."
